"Do
not wait until the conditions are perfect to begin. Beginning makes the
conditions perfect." -- Alan Cohen
So the
Positive-Vibez team begins yet another year of vigorous campaigning and
Reaching Out to all those infected or affected by HIV& AIDS in our
communities.
When we
set out just over a year ago, we didn’t foresee the amazing and wonderful
response that was waiting for us. We have talked, we have grown, we have cried,
we have been shocked , jolted and inspired to do even more.
The struggle
as they say continues and it is a blissful honour to be part of making strides
in the fight against stigma and discrimination.
Our motto
– YOU ARE POSITIVE UNTIL YOU TEST NEGATIVE - is simply an opening to encouraging
others to pursue a choice driven lifestyle.
2012
promises to be exciting as we focus on Youth, Children, Women and Men –
everyone. Each of us has a story to tell and each of us has been touched by the
Virus in one way or the other.
Conditions
may indeed not be perfect but we are willing and able..we believe you are
willing and able too.
Be kind to
one another and to yourselves, we urge you to take time to reflect upon your
previous and coming choices... what will you change? It is not a competition, it
is just a beginning and we are here to walk with you. KNOW YOUR STATUS… the
rest will follow.
Looking
forward to meeting you on our travels this year and to hearing from you about
how you have made a difference not only in some one else’s life but most importantly
in your own...
WISHING
YOU ALL A POSITIVE & PRODUCTIVE 2012!
POSITIVE-VIBEZ seeks to focus on the positive aspects of the virus and even more life in general, whilst creating an open dialogue to eradicate stigma, myths and ignorance on an entertaining platform of expression. Many people continue to make choices without adequate access to media such as positive-vibez where stigma is stripped away and uncommon questions are raised and backed with well researched and documented options to their specific dilemmas.
Positive-vibez engages people whether HIV-positive or HIV-negative to ask and answer themselves, sometimes seemingly very funny and "absurd" questions which are nevertheless important to ask.
To find answers to those questions can take years with long distance detours whether single, in a relationship, positive or negative, gay or straight, irrespective of cultural or racial background. (we know what we are talking about ;-)
